RISCOS Select Release 1 (2001)
The Select scheme was a subscription service offered by RISCOS Ltd. A subscriber would be sent new builds of RISC OS normally at the rat of 2 or 3 releases a year. These new builds of RISC OS always had incremental version numbers and were designed to be softloaded on top of RISC OS 4.02, which had to be installed on ROM chips in the computer. At it's launch the 'Select' version of RISC OS would only work on the Acorn RiscPC or A7000/A7000+ computers.
